Support & Frequently Asked Questions
About FtpZ
FtpZ is a lightweight, high-performance FTP client for macOS, designed to run seamlessly from your menu bar. Featuring scheduled background synchronization, automated queues, and robust FTPS/FTP security, FtpZ ensures your files are exactly where they need to be, when they need to be, without interrupting your flow.
Frequently Asked Questions
What connection protocols does FtpZ support?
FtpZ supports standard FTP and secure FTPS (FTP over SSL/TLS) protocols. Both explicit and implicit encryption modes are fully supported to ensure secure remote transactions.
How does the background scheduling work?
Once you configure a transfer schedule, FtpZ runs quietly in the macOS menu bar. When the scheduled time is reached, the app runs the transfer task in the background and hides its Dock icon automatically to stay out of your workspace.
Where are my FTP server credentials stored?
Security is a core feature of FtpZ. All server configuration profiles, passwords, and security tokens are stored securely in your macOS system Keychain, fully encrypted and protected by system-level security.
Can I configure multiple schedules?
Yes. You can manage multiple server configurations, and set up distinct, automated schedules (e.g. daily, weekly, or specific time intervals) for different file paths and destinations.
